The redesigned complex offers generous room for a full-swing practice, world-class putting green and short-range chipping area. In fact, the simulations and surface conditions of our elaborate practice facility will mirror that from playing The National live whether it be in preparation for your round, or honing your skills in a practice session or lesson at the Sorenstam Academy.
This seamless conversion allows for golfers to enhance their preparations, perhaps visualizing a spectrum of approach shots for each hole/round.
The rebuilt practice greens have been shaped and grassed with TifEagle bermuda, enhancing the speed of each pinnable area. TifEagle is a third-generation type of dwarf bermudagrass, according to Tilton Turf, a hybrid bermudagrass that has consistently improved quality, playability and the long-term health of the grounds.
As part of this commitment to better simulations, the practice greens are presented in two forms — undulated and flat.
“Spacious practice putting greens and an unforgettable full swing practice facility.”
The practice stations offer the utmost convenience with full-swing simulations, along with ample room for a teaching course, private instruction and equipment testing. It’s one of the premier practice areas in Sarasota County.
The chipping simulations will infuse golfers with full confidence heading into their round, the happy result of being exposed to plenty of open space, world-class turf and practice bunker, just prior to hitting the first tee.
It’s all part of The National’s relentless quest to make this golf club a national standard-bearer with the public and professionals, at large. If it’s in the practice facility … it’s likely part of the golf experience, as well.
